Tarap   is     a   gorgeous    village   on   the bank  of  river  ‘Sawan’.  It   is  coped   under Tahsil Jand through District Attock.

Tarap get ahead of a glorious history of British and Mughal Rule.  Here a water station put up by Sher Shah Suri to make possible water utility for the mass passing through. There are many such water stations those were established at different places within Mughal constituency.  

Here there are all basic utilities to facilitate its public making them lived utilizing better living standard.

 Punjab (Urdu:صوبہ پنجاب) is a province in Pakistan. The capital of Punjab is Lahore. Punjab has a population of 80 million people and an area of 79,284 mi² or (205,344 km²) in terms of area the provincial region of PUNJAB is greater in area than Kyrgyzstan but smaller than Belarus.

Attock District (Urdu:ضلع اتک) is a district in the Punjab province of Pakistan. The city of Attock is the capital.

The district of Attock is administratively subdivided into six tehsils, each with an elected Nazim:

  • Attock Tehsil
  • Fateh Jang Tehsil
  • Hasan Abdal Tehsil
  • Jand Tehsil
  • Pindi Gheb Tehsil
  • Hazro Tehsil

Jand Tehsil is one of the six tehsils (subdivisions) of Attock District in the Punjab province of Pakistan.

The tehsil Jand is administratively subdivided into 12 Union Councils, these are:

  • Basal mithial
  • Chhab
  • Jaba
  • Jand
  • Khunda
  • Langar
  • Makhad
  • Nara
  • Pindsultani
  • Saghri
  • Tarap
  • Thatta

Village of Thatta and Tarap had been most important villages of the district Attock. These are believed to have been founded by Sher Shah Suri, while some believe that these were founded much earlier, in the time of Alexander's invasion. The Khattar family of the village of Thatta has played a very important role in the progress of the country and the region.
